Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a scathing attack on the newly revived AIADMK-BJP alliance on Saturday, branding it an “alliance of defeat” and a “treacherous pact” that compromises the interests of the state for political gains.
In a fiery statement following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s press conference in Chennai, CM Stalin accused the BJP of using the AIADMK as a pawn to push its “hidden agenda” in Tamil Nadu. “The people of this state will never tolerate an alliance that bows to Delhi and betrays Tamil Nadu,” he asserted.
Stalin criticized Amit Shah’s remarks during his visit, calling them unworthy of his position. “He failed to explain the basis of this alliance or its ideological grounding. Instead, he focused only on criticizing the DMK, while silencing the AIADMK leadership during the event,” the Chief Minister said.
Highlighting key issues such as NEET, the imposition of Hindi, the three-language policy, and the Waqf Act, Stalin questioned whether these concerns—which the AIADMK has historically opposed—were part of the alliance’s so-called “common minimum programme.” He also took a direct dig at Shah’s dismissal of NEET opposition, pointing to the tragic student suicides linked to the exam and ongoing investigations into related scams.
Further condemning Shah’s remarks on law and order in Tamil Nadu, Stalin said, “This is not Manipur, where over 250 people were killed under your watch. Tamil Nadu is peaceful and progressing — your baseless comments only aim to instill fear.”
Calling the AIADMK-BJP alliance a “product of corruption,” Stalin alleged that AIADMK leaders struck a deal with the BJP to escape central agency investigations. “Those who mortgaged the AIADMK after just two raids are now preparing to mortgage the entire state,” he warned.
He accused the BJP of systematically undermining Tamil Nadu by attempting to impose Hindi, curbing the state’s political representation through delimitation, and weakening regional identity.
“Whether the BJP comes alone or with allies, the people of Tamil Nadu are ready to deliver a fitting response. The alliance may seek to win elections, but it will never win the trust of this land,” Stalin concluded.
The AIADMK and BJP officially announced their alliance for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, signaling a renewed partnership after their split in 2023.
